B-Folders

It is never safe to store certain information, like schedules or passwords, in a simple folder on the hard drive. You can find many applications which enable you to save these details in a secure database, but most of them can be used for a specific type of information. You need to use one program for passwords and another one for notes. This is not the case with B-Folders. It lets you manage notes, contacts, tasks, passwords and more. You can save them in the software's secure database, back it up and synchronize it.

B-Folders is available for both Windows and Mac platforms and you can also find an Android edition, for smart phones and tablets. It may take longer to download the 36 Mb setup kit with slow Internet connections, but the software can be installed rapidly on any computer, regardless of performance.

The interface is divided in three columns, to make navigation and organization easier. Created folders are listed on the left column and their contents are shown on the middle one. You may create notes, tasks, journal entries, bookmarks, insert sensitive information, like passwords, contacts and much more. These items, as well as various types of folders can be created with options from the same menu, which pop up after clicking a plus icon, on the middle column.

When creating an item, the options and tools you need will appear in the right column. Their complexity depends on what you create. If you opt for a simple note, you only need to type your text, in the right column and click a check icon above it to store the note. Creating a journal entry requires typing a title and selecting a date as well. Other items, such as passwords or contacts, require filling in more information, like names, addresses, websites and more.

Besides standard folders, you may also create special folders for tasks, contacts and journal entries. You will be able to create only one type of items in these folders. For example, if you access a tasks folder, you will not be able to create anything except tasks and task lists, which work like sub-folders.

Everything you create is stored in the software's database, which is protected with a password. B-Folders provides a unique synchronization feature as well. It lets you synchronize multiple databases between your machine and other computers, laptops or mobile devices. The synchronization does not use any web or cloud services. It can be done over a USB cable, wired network, Wi-Fi or 3G. In this way, you can access your important information while you are away. Any modification you make will be detected and synchronized.
